My approach to patient care:
I am an orthopedic surgeon with specialty training in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder. I hope to bring to McMinnville and the surrounding communities a top quality sports medicine experience.
As a sports medicine surgeon, I have a special interest and expertise in treating injuries of the knee and shoulder in patients of all ages and skill levels, from the elite athlete to the weekend warrior. I work closely with patients to avoid surgery whenever possible. When it is necessary to go to the operating room, I do my very best to help each patient recover quickly and return to doing the things that they enjoy.
I am a strong believer in giving back to our community, and to that end run a free sports medicine clinic on Saturday mornings during high school football season. I also serve as the head team physician for Linfield College, McMinnville High School, Dayton High School and the See Ya Later Foundation. I look forward to seeing you out on the field helping to support our local athletes.
Thanks again for your time and interest. I look forward to working with you to help make McMinnville a destination for the best in sports medicine care.

I became interested in orthopedic surgery in medical school largely because of my exposure to orthopedic injuries while playing college football, rugby and wrestling. Later I learned that the practice of musculoskeletal medicine in orthopedics applied itself to those types of injuries.
On the orthopedic surgery rotation I found that the patients were, for the most part, having positive experiences and were happy with the outcome of their surgeries. I loved orthopedic surgery then, and I love it now.
My philosophy in the practice of medicine is that the patient and I are partners in managing their health. My role is to inform patients what their problem can do to them and what they can do for their problem. We share in deciding what to do.
My 25+ years of experience help me provide the answers to your questions and guidance you need. Although my areas of special training are in trauma or fracture surgery and sports medicine I have performed joint replacements for years and really enjoy seeing the improvement that these patients can experience.
